My friends thought I'd been attacked :O

Earlier in the evening I felt the urge to create some kind of make up look but I wanted to create something different to what I usually do. Most of my make-up collection consists of pretty things but lately I've been wanting to create gore / Halloween looks.....maybe that's because Halloween is coming up or my HUGE obsession with Violence and Gore....Anyway this is what I finished with.

All created with pretty much normal cosmetics.

Mua lip liner in Red Drama
Lime Crime Suedeberry Velvetines Lip Paint
Kate Moss lipstick in shade 4
Collection Lasting colour lipstick in Pink Shock
Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Nude

Loving Lately

Collection Lipstick in Pink Shock: This lipstick is part of Collections Lasting Colour range and It's the first lipstick I have ever tried by Collection. I was casually browsing Superdrug one day on the hunt to find a bright, opaque, long lasting lipstick and I came across this beauty. I absolutely love this shade because it's a subtle bright pink and what I would call a statement lipstick. I've bought pink lipsticks in the past and hated them because they just look tarty and yucky. It has a smooth application and feels moisturising on the lips. I was surprised at the lasting time because the lipstick was under £4.00 and didn't expect it to last as well as it does. I worse this lipstick out for a meal and I didn't need to re-apply after the meal which was very unexpected. I'm going to try other shades from collection because this one has won me over.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in shade 101: This lipstick is one of my most worn lipsticks because it's the perfect everyday shade for me. It's a subtle bubblegum pink shade and goes well with any outfit. It's easy to apply and very convenient if I'm in a rush to get ready. The consistency is soft and creamy leaving a lovely matte finish. Because the lipstick is matte is has a decent lasting time but it makes my lips the tiniest bit dry but nothing extreme or I won't be wearing it everyday. Revlon have a lipstick very similar to this one called Pink Pout but it has purple undertones to it. I have already purchased another shade from the Kate Moss collection which I will do a review on very soon.

Lime Crime Lipstick Airborn Unicron: I adore Lime Crime and I adore this lipstick, the packaging is super cute with bright purple packaging and a sparkly holographic unicorn design. The lipstick is an opaque medium violet and definitely a statement shade. It’s super creamy and packed full of pigment that lasts all day. It doesn’t make my lips feel dry nor does it settle in lip lines or bleed. It’s just a beautiful lipstick that I enjoy wearing. Lime Crime have so many amazing shades I have no idea which to choose next.

Hope you enjoyed today's post; do you wear any of these shades?

L’Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks

Hello my lovely readers today I’m doing a quick review on the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks in the shades Fashionist Pink and Cheeky Magenta. First of all the packaging looks and feels more expensive that it actually is, and for the price of £7.99 I think there fantastic quality. There are 10 shades available ranging from nudes, pinks, peaches, purples and reds and the formula is a mix between a balm and a lightweight gel. L’Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks have a soft velvety texture that glides on the lips leaving them with a subtle tint and a glossy finish. I’ve been wearing these lipsticks a lot this summer because they are easy to wear and are very moisturising. They last on my lips for a good two hours before starting to fade, but the colour is still noticeable, and provides much more coverage that a gloss but not as much as a lipstick.

Wearing Lipsticks

I’m much more of a bold coloured lipstick wearer, but there are many times I just want quick splash of colour and these lipsticks are perfect for those times. I don’t need to use a lipliner with these lipsticks as they are the kind of lipsticks you can apply without a mirror. All in all I love these lipsticks and I’m so glad I purchased them, now my red lipsticks can have a day off.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks?
Let me know what you think.

Loving Lately

The heat is here and it’s been time to tone down my make-up. I recently bought L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory because it was the first foundation I ever used, so I was curious to see what I thought of it seven years later. In all honestly I was a little disappointed but I’ve put it to good use by using it on my legs to mask out little imperfections and it works brilliantly. I received Sleeks Pout Paints in 161 Minx & 154 Mauve Over in this month’s Glossybox and I’ve been wearing them ever since. The shades are perfect summer colours for me, a peachy nude shade and a hot purple/pink shade, they are made to be mixed but I like to be bold. They are best to be applied with a lip brush and they give a glossy full coverage lip. Lasting time is pretty good but nothing to rave about as the colour wears off in the inner part of the lips, leaving a bold outline. Even so I still love these lip paints and I really want to try other shades. Illamasqua Concealer 115 My all round favourite concealer right now, because it’s so smooth and creamy and covers up all my blemishes as well as hiding dark circles. The only niggle I have is it chips the nail polish on my thumb nail because of how the compact opens. Avons Eye Shadow Primer Wow I love this stuff and I think this is a dupe for Lime Crime Eye Shadow Helper, it has the same consistency and does exactly the same thing in exactly the same way but a lot cheaper. Sadly Avon is going to discontinue it!! Avons SuperShock Gel Eyeliner in Flash is a really pretty pearl/pink eyeliner that I’ve been using in the inner corners of my eye, giving a wide awake look that I just love. Its long lasting but Avon are also discontinuing this too, so I’m not going to ramble about it.

Drugstore Haul

Hello lovelies, I hope you’re all having a lovely evening. About a month ago I had a huge clear out and I was shocked at the amount of beauty products I own, so that’s why I haven’t done a Haul post for a while. But being me I decided to treat myself, just a little the other day. So this is what I bought.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blue Grape & Lyche I’m a fan of the Barry M Nail polish’s but hadn’t yet had the chance to try the Gelly polishes so I decided to pick some up to try. I painted my nails the shade Blue Grape later that day and I have to say I LOVE the formula, it’s easier to apply, super shiny and seems to be long lasting. I will be trying out more shades soon. Barry M Nail Art Pen I picked this up because I really wanted to give it ago to see how well it works, If all goes well I will try other shades. L'Oreal Lipstick Rouge Caresse Cheeky Magenta I already have one of the Caresse Lipsticks in Fashionist Pink which I’ve been wearing a lot this summer. They give a tint to the lips and are very moisturising; I like these lipsticks because they are like tinted lip balm and perfect to keep the lips hydrated in warm weather. MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner Lovely Lilac I’ve been looking for a lilac eyeliner to create a look I have in mind. The sales assistant recommended this to me and I was wowed by the color pay off and the effect it gave. Glamour & Lash Studio False No real reason for buying these lashes, I just always seem to pick them up when I’m shopping

Single Synthetic Hair Extensions in Pink, Black and Purple I buy these from time to time because I like to add a bit of colour to my wigs for make-up looks. They are extremely low quality but are perfect for what I used them for.

Freederm Overnight Clearing Serum I decided I could no longer use the night product I had been using because I really didn’t like it nor did it do anything for me. I choose this product on whim, I’ve never used any of the Freederm products before so I’m hoping this works for me. Johnsons gentle eye make-up remover I’d just used up the last of my make-up remover and fancied a change, my friend recommended me this one, and I’m so pleased she did. I used this the other day when I had heavy eye make-up on and it removed everything superbly, I will be buying this again once I run out. Nail The Habit I have a gross habit of biting the skin around my cuticles; it’s something I’ve done for as long as I can remember. Hopefully this product will help me beat the habit.

What have you been buying recently?

Glossybox July 2013 Seaside Splash

Hello my beautiful readers, I hope you’re all enjoying Britain’s heat wave! Unfortunately I’m not enjoying the heat as much as I would like to, because I hurt my neck on Saturday, and I’ve had a pretty painful weekend to say the least. I received my Glossy the day I decided to do a big stretch and hurt my neck, so that’s why this post is a couple of days late. However I’m feeling a little better today and decided to do this post for you all. Talking of late I mentioned I received my Glossy on Saturday, but just this morning I got my dispatch email……..crazy? Let me know if this has ever happened to any of you. This month the Glossy team have gone with a seaside theme which I think fits perfectly with this lovely weather.  I already knew this because Glossy had a picture on their website, so since then I’ve been extra excited. The box itself is my favourite so far, I adore the design. I collect these boxes and use them for storage but this one will be used for something special.

So this is what I received in my box this month:

Anatomicals Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz - Full size 100ml - £6.00
I’m a big fan of Anatomicals since I reviewed some of their products, the headache balm being my favourite. This facial spritz with calming lavender and refreshing peppermint extracts helps rehydrate and calm skin. It’s great to be used every day, during flights, at the beach, in the city or in the office. To be applied on the face after cleansing or even over make-up to refresh and set make up. I’m looking forward to trying this product because I have another product very similar that I have been using a lot. Quick tip: Keep in the fridge to really make your skin feel refreshed.

Alterna Haircare Bamboo style Boho Waves Tousled Textured Mist – 25ml sample – Full size 125ml - £23.00
Your perfect “Seaside Splash” summer companion! Forget perfectly primped hair, and instead opt for effortlessly tousled, “just back from the beach” waves with weightless mist. It adds texture, volume and a healthy shine to all hair types. I’ve never used a product like this before because I have never felt the need to but I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

Coola Organic Sun care Collection Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented – 7ml sample – Full size 50ml – £29.99
Coola Organic Sun care Collection is hypoallergic, free from Parabens and packed with antioxidants. It provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fights free radicals, while soothing, toning and minimizing pores. Organic Acai Oil delivers powerful anti-aging benefits, while organic Evening Primrose and Linseed Oils reduce inflammation and balance moisture. I’m looking forward to tying this product because it has lots of benefits, and I love multi-tasking products.

Sleek Makeup Pout Paint Mauve Over & Minx – Full size 8ml – 4.99
Pout Paints are intensive, long lasting lip pigments that are made to be mixed. Use a tiny bead of Pout Paint and smooth onto your lips for mind blowing vibrant colour that gives you full coverage that lasts for hours and dries to a satin finish. Simply use to brighten or add vibrancy to your regular colour. I’ve been meaning to try the Pout Paints for quite some time because I really like the idea of them, and if they are anything like Lime Crimes Velvetines I will adore them. I’m really happy with the colours I received because they are both colours I would wear.

Essie Sleek Sticks – One set from £9.99

I was a little disappointed because I’m not very good at applying nail wraps / foils, and I would rather have got a nail polish. However I will try these out because I like the Pattern.

Revlon Matte Lipstick Pink Pout

I love matte lipsticks because I think they suit me better than glossy looking lipsticks. I also prefer matte because it lasts longer on my lips. I picked this lipstick up because I liked the shade and it was matte! The packaging is simple and straight forward to use. Pink pout is a gorgeous medium pink shade with cooler purple undertones. The lipstick is very pigmented and has fantastic staying powder. It can be applied sheer to give a subtle look of applied more generously to give a brighter look. I like to apply lip balm to my lips to soften and condition, then once I have applied the rest of my make-up I have nice canvas on my lips to work with. This works great for matte lipsticks but I like to do this for any lipstick.

"I think this is a brilliant matte lipstick, and I’m keen to try other shades."

My thoughts on this product

If you have read my March Glossybox post then you will know this is one of the products I received. The March box has been by far my favorite box yet, as it was loaded with great products that I will actually use. The Jelly Pong Pong lip blush is in a shade called Marshmallow but the shade is no where to be seen on the product. The packaging is super cute and has a twisty part at the bottom to allow more product to come out of the tube. I really like the shade as its a nice subtle pink and last on my lips for a good amount of time, although the colour does start to fade after a couple of hours, but it leaves a lovely baby pink shade. The lip blush contains beeswax and ceresin wax for a sheer, smooth application. Once applied the lip blush moisturises and hydrates the lips just like a lip balm would. The lip blush also comes in one other shade called Cranberry, which is a red shade. All in all I love this lip blush and I wear it all the time, because the shade is so pretty and it won't dry out my lips. I would like to try out Cranberry, as I'm a sucker for red lipstick. However I don't think this product is worth £12.00.
