Avon Haul!

I'm a sucker for Avon and that hasn't changed this month, I blame all the amazing products and offers they have available. I get so excited and impatient to see what juicy things Avon have brought out every time there is a new brochure. Anyway I thought I would share this month’s Avon Haul with you all, so here goes. 

Opal Top Coat: This top coat seals in nail colour, creates bigger impact on darker shades, It’s easy to apply and can be worn alone or over nail polish. It is packed full of irregular iridescent particles giving any shade nail polish that extra sparkle and shine. You can buy this product online or in the brochure for £2.50 and will normally be £6.00. NailwearPro+ Nail Polishes in Starry Night & Celestial Blue: You can purchase these nail polishes in four shades, Cosmic Trip, Starry Night, Celestial Blue and Fiery Sky. These polishes are packed with shimmer and sparkle and Avon claims them to last up to 12 days. I bought two blue shades because I couldn’t tell the difference in the brochure. Now I have received them I can clearly see that Starry Night is more of a purple shade and Celestial blue is the blue shade. All Nailwear Pro+ Nail Polishes are currently £3.00 and will normally be £6.00. Colour Trend Nail Tip Stickers: These nail tip stickers are a leopard print design and are coloured in white, black and pink. They come in a pack of 28 and have instructions with them. They are currently a special introductory price online and in the brochure at £1.50 and will normally be £3.00. 

Luella Bracelet: This is a unstretched silver-plated bracelet with acrylic beads and has a silver detailed heart attached. I think this is a pretty bracelet that suits my taste perfectly. This is currently available in the brochure for £5.00 and will normally be £7.00. Planet Spa Turkish Thermal Bath Petals: These petals come in a set of eight and Avon claims they leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed. These petals were in the sales booklet for £1.50 and would normally be £5.00. However this item is now unavailable unless it comes back into the sales booklets. 

ShowStopping Mascara in Violet Sizzle: You can purchase this mascara in four shades, Cobalt Cabaret, Turquoise Tango, Famously Green and Violet Sizzle. These mascaras look very bright in the brochure but I have a feeling they won’t be as bright in reality, so I’m interested to see how Violet Sizzle turns out. Fingers crossed I like the result because I have a makeup look in mind.  They are currently a special introductory price online and in the brochure at £3.00 and will normally be £4.50. Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner in SugarPlum: They are one of Avon’s bestselling eyeliners and you can purchase these eyeliners in eight different shades Brown Glow, Black Ice, Sugar Plum, Emerald Glow, Twilight Sparkle, Sparkling Silver, Smokey Diamond and Golden Diamond. They give a pop of colour and have a sparkle of glitter to them, but nothing over dramatic. These eyeliners are currently on offer at 99p each if you buy any other product from the brochure. They will normally be £6.00. Glimmerstick Cosmic Eyeliner in PurpleHaze: You can purchase these eyeliners in six shades Twilight, Silver Eclipse, Midnight Sky, Galactic Green, Blackened Night and Moonlit Brown and they are on offer at £3.50 but will normally be £6.00. Purple Haze is one of two new shades Avon have brought out the other is Starry Night Blue. These eyeliners are in multi-coloured shades that create defined dramatic look. The two new shades are not yet available online or in the brochure, but they will be very soon for a special introductory price of £3.00 and will normally be £6.00.  Kohl Eyeliner in True Black: You can purchase these kohl eyeliners in four shades True Black, Bronze Sheen, Cobalt Blue and Deep Violet. They are formulated with Shea Butter for a smooth application and long wearing colour. On the opposite end of the eyeliner is a smudger to help create your desired look.  These eyeliners are not yet available online or in the brochure, but they will be soon at a special introductory price of £3.50 and will normally be £6.00. 

Perfect Eyebrow Kit in Blonde: You can purchase this kit in two shades Soft Brown and Blonde. I do think Avon should have more shade options available because not everybody has brown or blonde eyebrows. The kit contains smooth wax, brow powder, mini applicator and a decent sized mirror, which makes this a perfect little compact for on the go.  Avon claims this kit to be smudge proof and easy to apply so I’m looking forward to trying this for myself. This product is not yet available to buy online or in the brochures, but it will be very soon for a special introductory price of £5.00 and it will normally be £7.00. Heart Bracelet: This is a stretch bracelet with silver-plated beads and a golden tone heart. It is completely my cup of tea and I find it to be very pretty. This item was in the sales booklet for £2.50 and would normally be £6.00. However this item is now unavailable unless it comes back into the sales booklets.

Drugstore Haul

Hello lovelies, I hope you’re all having a lovely evening. About a month ago I had a huge clear out and I was shocked at the amount of beauty products I own, so that’s why I haven’t done a Haul post for a while. But being me I decided to treat myself, just a little the other day. So this is what I bought.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blue Grape & Lyche I’m a fan of the Barry M Nail polish’s but hadn’t yet had the chance to try the Gelly polishes so I decided to pick some up to try. I painted my nails the shade Blue Grape later that day and I have to say I LOVE the formula, it’s easier to apply, super shiny and seems to be long lasting. I will be trying out more shades soon. Barry M Nail Art Pen I picked this up because I really wanted to give it ago to see how well it works, If all goes well I will try other shades. L'Oreal Lipstick Rouge Caresse Cheeky Magenta I already have one of the Caresse Lipsticks in Fashionist Pink which I’ve been wearing a lot this summer. They give a tint to the lips and are very moisturising; I like these lipsticks because they are like tinted lip balm and perfect to keep the lips hydrated in warm weather. MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner Lovely Lilac I’ve been looking for a lilac eyeliner to create a look I have in mind. The sales assistant recommended this to me and I was wowed by the color pay off and the effect it gave. Glamour & Lash Studio False No real reason for buying these lashes, I just always seem to pick them up when I’m shopping. 

Single Synthetic Hair Extensions in Pink, Black and Purple I buy these from time to time because I like to add a bit of colour to my wigs for make-up looks. They are extremely low quality but are perfect for what I used them for. 

Freederm Overnight Clearing Serum I decided I could no longer use the night product I had been using because I really didn’t like it nor did it do anything for me. I choose this product on whim, I’ve never used any of the Freederm products before so I’m hoping this works for me. Johnsons gentle eye make-up remover I’d just used up the last of my make-up remover and fancied a change, my friend recommended me this one, and I’m so pleased she did. I used this the other day when I had heavy eye make-up on and it removed everything superbly, I will be buying this again once I run out. Nail The Habit I have a gross habit of biting the skin around my cuticles; it’s something I’ve done for as long as I can remember. Hopefully this product will help me beat the habit.

Headline Colours Poolside Party Nail Polish

Headline Colours is the new name of the brand previously known as Killer Colours. Headline Colours have small collections of nail polishes that are on trend, such as seasonal and limited edition. The shade I am reviewing today is called Poolside Party and it’s a shade from the Spring / Summer collection.

I received this full size sample in my May Glossybox and I was really happy to receive it because it was the colour I had been looking for, to wear in the summer. The bottle contains 10ml of product and to purchase it would cost £9.00. In all honestly I never thought I would ever want to pay that amount for a nail polish, but after using this polish my mind had been changed.

The polish comes with a regular brush but the polish is smooth and easy to apply. The shade is quite opaque and one coat does the job but adding a second coat makes it look even better. The formula dries quickly but gives enough time to be applied nicely. Best of all it lasted me two whole weeks and it only started to chip on the ends of my nails. The only niggle about the polish is that it’s a pain to remove, but that is probably because it’s so hard wearing.  It made my cuticles, skin and nail blue so I had to soak my nails for a while and have another go at removing it, in the end it came off but it was such hassle.

All in all I think this is a fantastic nail polish and I will be trying other shades by Headline Colours.

Kolor Kube Nail Polish 16k Cosmetics Review*

I've been looking for the perfect bright purple nail polish and I was having no luck at all. Then a lovely lady from 16k Cosmetics asked me if I would like to try a couple of polishes from their new Kolor Kube range. I had a look on the website at their shades and came across a shade called Berry Burst and I instantly new this was the colour I had been looking for. And a lovely shade called Bubblegum also caught my eye. 

When the polishes arrived I was taken by the design of the bottles and the shades looked ever so pretty. Each polish costs £6.95 for 15ml.

As you can see I am demoing the polishes on a nail wheel, I'm doing so because I don't have the nicest finger nails. When I applied the polishes on my actual finger nails I used a base coat and then three coats of the colour to get an intense bright colour. By using two coats I still got a bright colour but it is a little more intense with three. I then used a top coat to help secure the colour and lasting power.

The application was easy and the polish dried in a nice amount of time. I also noticed they didn't have the powerful nail polish smell which I liked very much. The polishes lasted a full 11 days without any chipping but by the 9th day the polish started to fade, I've never used a polish that has faded rather than chip but I do prefer it that way as my nails didn't look scruffy they just looked a little faded.

A couple of hours ago I removed the polish and it removed without much effort at all. Even though I removed it I could of kept it on longer as it didn't really look like it needed to be removed but I have a different polish I want to try out. 

All in all these polishes are great I don't have a bad word to say about them. Fab design, shades, easy quick application, long lasting and wearable. The kolor kube polishes have a range of 34 shades to choose from and I will be buying some in the future.

Barry M Nail Polishes

I picked these three polishes up last week in my local Superdrug, the three for two offer had me tempted. So I decided to choose Blueberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Ice cream because I had been looking for polishes in these shades for a while. As per usual with most three for two offers I always get stuck on the last item (the free one) and I never know what to choose, so I randomly  chose Bright Purple. 

A few days later I decided to apply some of my polishes on to some nail wheels so it would be easier for me to chose colours when wanting to paint my nails or nail art.  

Here are two of the nail wheels I created, each nail has two coats of polish applied. I've marked my three new polishes so you can get an idea of what the shades look like. 

Just like all my other Barry M polishes they are great quality, easy to apply and they have all last between 10-15 days. But it always helps to use a decent quality top coat. I love blueberry and strawberry ice cream but I don't like the bright purple so much because I was hoping it would be a *bright* purple but its quite dark in my opinion. 

I will be purchasing more Barry M nail polishes because they have lots of pretty colours to choose from and I really like the quality of the nail polishes.
