The Brush Guards*

No matter whether I buy cheap of expensive make up brushes I like to keep them looking fresh and brand new. I use my make-up brushes a lot, and each time I have used them I give them a quick clean. I normally don't have the time to clean them after I have done my make up, so I tend to clean them on a night after I have removed the make-up off my face. Cleaning them on a night works out good for me because it gives them time to air dry overnight, so they are clean and fresh to use the next morning. My quick cleaning method involves make up remover and baby wipes, although this does clean any make up off the brush it does not disinfect. I have tried the brush spray cleaner by Elf but I personally don't like it and prefer to use makeup remover. A couple of days ago I gave Parian Spirit brush wipes ago and they are really effective, my brushes came up super clean and Parian Spirit disinfects. But I'm looking for a brush cleaner that disinfects and is preferably in a spray form, something cheap and quick to use every day. Please let me me know if you have any suggestions.

Moving on to giving my brushes a deep clean, I do this once or twice a month depending how much I use my brushes as giving them a quick clean after use prevents as much product, oil, bacteria etc build up. To give my brushes a deep clean I use dish liquid soap and olive oil mixed together. The dish liquid soap cleans and disinfects and the olive oil conditions and it’s great for getting brushes really clean and hygienic and well as being purse friendly.

After I have washed my brushes I use Brush Guards on my favourite brushes. Brush guards help to dry the bristles as well as keeping their original shape and they will also help to makes your brushes last longer.  I've have used the Brush Guards a lot recently and they have made a big difference to my brushes, they look new and for some reason I enjoy using them more.

I will be buying Brush Guards in the future because they take good care of my brushes and I don't have enough right now for all my brush family.

How do you keep your make-up brushes in tip top condition?
Have you used brush guards before?

  1. Parian Spirit is available in 2 and 4 oz spray bottles. Look on our website for the closest retailer. Thanks, parianspirit.com
